Holiday Villas in Playa Blanca Lanzarote – A Great Family Choice

Posted on

For many families these days, a private villa with its own pool, is the best way to enjoy quality holiday time, and Playa Blanca in Lanzarote has developed a top reputation in recent years for the luxury holiday villas that it offers.

Holiday villas in Lanzarote offer a wide choice – from 2 bedroomed, semi detached units to detached villas set in their own secluded gardens with their own private pools, loungers, and other garden furniture. They are generally very well equipped with all modern facilities that a family would need. Cots, high chairs and infant car seats are usually available on request when booking.

Because of its location some 1,000 miles south of the Spanish and Portuguese mainland, Lanzarote enjoys year round daytime temperatures that reach well into the 20’s Celsius. In addition, the wide choice of low cost flights from UK operators such as Easyjet, Ryanair and Jet2 mean that a holiday villa in Lanzarote can be a low cost option for many families.

Lanzarote is just 4 hours’ flight time from the UK, and on arrival, visitors have a 30 minute journey by transfer, hire car or taxi to Playa Blanca. There are many web sites advertising a wide range of holiday villas in the town, many being available to rent directly from the owners. There is an excellent network of Villa Managers throughout the resort, which means that villa servicing and cleaning is generally to a very high standard.

Playa Blanca as a resort really does have something for everyone. There are great beaches, ranging from the rugged and beautiful Papagayo coastline (designated as a National Park), and a choice of three main beach areas very close to the town: Playa Dorada, Playa Flamingo, and the smaller central Playa Blanca town beach. The views all around the town are stunning, with high mountain ranges on one side, and panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean, and the neighbouring islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura, on the other side.

There is very good shopping in Playa Blanca too, with a number of good supermarkets scattered across all main areas of the resort, plus an excellent range of restaurants and bars, that cater for the whole family with ease. There is also the fabulous Marina Rubicon, situated between the main town and Costa Papagayo, and easily walkable from Playa Blanca itself.

It’s little wonder that Playa Blanca has remained one of the most popular family holiday destinations, despite the recession. If anything, it has increased in popularity because of the great choice of holiday villas in Playa Blanca Lanzarote that are available.
